Week 2 in Fayetteville: Success!

I realized I haven't given my new address:

807 Tallstone Dr
Fayetteville, NC 28311

We met one of the investigators that the elders before us had been teaching. Her name is Courtney. She's super cool! She also reads everything we ask her to! That doesn't happen very often. We just went over and got to know her a little bit. We also had two investigators come to church. We found 5 people last week as well! So, all in all, it was a good week! Talk to yo all next week!

Love, Elder Merritt

In this life we are constantly being pulled in two different directions. The direction of our Savior, and in the direction of the adversary. We are always given the option of who to follow. A Book of Mormon prophet puts it this way (2 Nephi 2:27-29):

27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;

29 And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own kingdom.

I once heard someone say, "When we lessen our commitment to Christ, the adversary gains more control of us." If we want to be the strongest we can be in this life, and be able to push through our trials we need to put our trust in Christ. He will never lead us astray! I know that if you do this you will never regret it!
