Week 19 in Durham 2: You'll Never Guess Who My Companion Is!!

Hey Everyone!

So transfers have happened and I have my new companion. Funny story is that I have been companions with this person before! I am with Elder Larsen! I was with him when I was in Dunn. He's the one who plays the organ. It's pretty cool! This week was pretty good. We found 12 people who wanted us to come back and talk to them! We will see how solid they are this week.

Having P-Day on Tuesday is super weird! But, it is Halloween today, and that's exciting!

Monday was a P-Day.We spent most of it getting ready for the transfer.

Tuesday we went to the Raleigh Stake Center for transfers, They had a departing missionary testimony meeting, because we didn't have a Zone Conference last transfer. I picked Elder Larsen up and we came back to D2. After we got back home, we decided to go for a little walk around the neighborhood, and the main road by our house. We ran into a homeless guy. He was walking past us, and he turned and said, "I am tired of everyone looking down on the homeless. They all think they're better than us. Look at this face! This is the face of how done I am with everyone. Take a good look at this face. You'll see it on the news tomorrow." Then, he walked away. So, yeah...that was an exciting first taste of Durham for Elder Larsen.

Wednesday we had District Meeting. Noting too exciting.

Nothing really happened on Thursday.

We have this thing we do on Fridays with the Sister missionaries. We have Floral Friday. We all wear floral.

On Saturday, we had the Ward Fall Festival. The missionaries got to be the judges of the Chili Cook Off. It's a big rivalry in the ward to see who wins, so they ask us to the the judges so no one get angry with other ward members. We also wore our costumes! Elder Larsen was a lion. And I was a unicorn jedi (I used my lightsaber and Elder Larsen's).  It was super fun!

Well, that was our week! I hope you all liked it!!

Week 18 in Durham 2: Another Transfer in Durham

Hey Everyone! So this transfer ends tomorrow. Sadly,  Elder Mitton and I are splitting up.  It has been a great 2 transfers with him. I will be staying in Durham for another. That makes four transfers here! It is the longest I have been in an area. Also, next week we won't be emailing on Monday. We will do it on Tuesday. Don't ask me why, I am just doing what I am told.

Our week wasn't super exciting, but here it goes!

Monday was just a P-Day. We never really have anything exciting going on.

Tuesday we went tracting and didn't find anyone.

Wednesday we had District meeting. Nothing super interesting.

Nothing happened on Thursday.

Friday, while we were tracting, we met a guy named Charlie Brown! He's pretty cool! We are going back to talk to him on Tuesday.

We got the News on Saturday that I was staying and Elder Mitton was leaving, so the rest of our time since has been cleaning and him packing. Sorry for such a boring week. Next time I will have a new companion to talk about. Talk to all next week!!

Week 17 in Durham 2: An Awesome Lesson And A Unicorn

So, this week was awesome for a couple reasons. Here goes!

Monday- Normal P-Day. Nothing too exciting. Well, I guess something did happen, but I'll get to that later.

P-Day picture

Tuesday- We had dinner with Brother Rubow. We went to see some less actives in the ward. We talked with Paul (one of the less actives), and caught up with him since he hasn't been to church in a while. A friend he lives with, who is also his ex-wife, had surgery on her foot. She got all 5 toes on her right foot amputated. We wanted to see how she was doing.

Wednesday- It was a normal day because we were going to have interviews on Thursday. So, we tracted and stuff. We went and saw an investigator that Elder Mitton and Elder Barlow (one of the Zone Leaders) met on exchange. his name is Victor. He is super awesome! He has a problem with how the world tries to take the easy way out of everything. And that makes a lot of bad things happen. He wants to know how he can fix it. We talked to him about the natural man, and how we all need to overcome the natural man in order to return to live with God.

Thursday- We had interviews with President James. That was exciting. Then, we tracted some more.

Friday- We did some more tracted. We found a couple people. We will see how they pan out though.

Nothing exciting happened on Saturday or Sunday.

But, on Monday I bought my Halloween costume. Just thought I'd make it a surprise!

I'm the Unicorn head!!

Talk to you all next week!

Week 16 in Durham 2: No More Crutches!

Hey, everyone! Well, this week was awesome! I am off my crutches and walking around without them. We had a pretty solid week. We found 10 new investigators! We had 1 super solid lesson!

Monday was a normal P-Day. nothing too interesting.

Tuesday we went on exchange with the Zone Leaders. I went with Elder Edman. If you don't remember Elder Edman, he was my second companion. It was pretty fun to be with him again for a day. We went to their area and tracted all day. That was interesting because I was still on crutches at that point. I almost fell down the stairs like 4 times, but I didn't, so that's good.

Wednesday we had District meeting...yeah that's about it.

Thursday we went tracting and found some people.

Friday was a fun day! We helped move some hay bales at a less active's barn. We got there early, so we played with the horses. I didn't bring my camera, but  we took some on our phone. I can't figure out how to get them off of it.

Saturday we had a lesson with Latalia. It was awesome!! We taught the restoration and she really liked it! She said she might come to church. Fingers crossed!

Sunday Latalia didn't show up, but we will go back and talkto her. Elder Mitton was feeling sick, so we didn't go out.

That was our week. Hope it was better that the last few. Talk to you all soon!

Week 15 in Durham 2: Well, This Was A...Week

The first week with me being a cripple was very boring. The doctor told me to stay off of it, so we tried to do that. We still tried to go work as much as possible. This resulted in it not feeling a whole lot better. We have now decided to take it easy for a while The only highlight of the week was General Conference. Conference was pretty good! It's awesome to know that these men and women are inspired.

Sorry that this email is lame! Trying to get some stories for you is difficult while being a cripple. Hopefully, it picks up soon. Talk to you all next week!
